We are very pleased and proud to announce that Route 33 has been awarded the 2014 Quality in Construction Award by NAPA. The project milled and resurfaced a seriously deficient pavement section in both the eastbound and westbound directions between Halls Mills Road and Route 33 Business in Freehold and Manalapan Townships.
After a brutal winter in which we maintained hundreds of potholes, we began by milling and paving the non-vegetative surface in the grass median for the new guiderail. We then started the traveled way, and at the height of Route 33’s construction, both milling and paving operations were running simultaneously at night, often pulling two different mixes to two different areas of the project site in order to meet the project’s tight completion date.
Achieving awards such as this requires everyone’s involvement and teamwork from the Construction, Engineering, Material Supply, Material Transportation, Maintenance, and Administration Departments.
