The National Asphalt Pavement Association awarded Earle Asphalt Company a 2015 Quality in Construction Award for excellence in construction of an asphalt pavement. The company received the award on February 10th at a ceremony during the association’s 61st Annual Meeting in La Quinta, CA.
“The asphalt pavement industry is committed to building quality pavements that deliver high performance and drivability to the public,” said Michael Cote, NAPA 2015 Chairman. “All contractor’s projects earning a Quality in Construction Award are measured against industry best practices designed to live up to our promise. I’m honored to say that, in earning a 2015 QIC Award, Earle Asphalt Company has met or exceeded those rigorous standards.”
Earle Asphalt Company received the award for the resurfacing of SR 72 in Woodland Township. This was a sustainable paving project, with the company conserving natural resources by incorporating reclaimed asphalt pavement into the project mixes. Working entirely at night, and with very stringent restrictions on lane closures, Earle Asphalt Company had to condense the project’s milling and paving schedule. By partnering with the New Jersey Department of Transportation, it produced, four weeks ahead of schedule, a smooth, high-quality asphalt pavement with excellent rideability.
Achieving awards such as this requires everyone’s involvement and teamwork from the Construction, Engineering, Material Supply, Material Transportation, Maintenance, and Administration Departments.
