Meet the Newest Recipients of Earle Fellowships at Rowan University

One of the goals of our partnership with Rowan is to equip students with the skills necessary to be successful in obtaining internships in the construction materials lab. Each year, at least four applicants will be selected for this exciting opportunity. The selected applicants will be paid to work in the lab for up to 10 hours a week throughout the year in different aspects of construction materials related projects.

Taking part in the Fellowship Program will allow Rowan Students to seize opportunities to grow and serve our region in meaningful ways. The development of industry partnerships is also significant for the continuing evolution of the university and enables them to provide graduates with the skills and expertise necessary to succeed in our industry.

We have some great news about Samantha Beckett who interned in our Asphalt Lab and Engineering Department during the summer of 2015. Sam was notified that she was selected as a recipient of the 2015 Suzanne Axworthy Undergraduate Scholarship. This scholarship is in honor of Suzanna Axworthy who developed and advocated for public and specialized transportation throughout Philadelphia. She worked for SEPTA, WHEEL Inc., and as a consultant. She was also an active member of WTS Philadelphia for as long as her professional career, serving as the Awards Chair from 1986-91, Vice President from 1989-91, and President from 1991-1993.

Many congratulations to Sam, as well as our new Earle Fellows.
